Nicole Elise Ekberg, 30, Village of Howard, earned her angel wings Wednesday, May 9, 2018 after a lengthy courageous battle with aplastic anemia. She was born on June 20, 1987 in Green Bay to Dean and Deborah (Dhuey) Ekberg.
Nicole worked for the Gustman of Kaukauna Automotive Group in the accounts receivable department. She had a great love of animals, jewelry, shoes and a nice purse. Nicole also loved family trips to the Dominican Republic.
She is survived by her parents, Dean and Deborah Ekberg, Howard; sisters, Jessica Ekberg, Menomonee Falls, and Chelsea Ekberg, Green Bay; paternal step-grandmother, Karen Ekberg, Sister Bay; her fiancé, Ronnie Vigue II, Howard; aunts and uncles: Marilyn (Wayne) Maedke, Algoma; Char (Gary) Veeser, Casco; and Don (Kathy) Modeen, Big Lake, MN.
Nicole is further survived by her fiancé, Ronnie's family: parents, Ron and Teri Vigue, Howard; sister, Rachel (Andy) Brown, Butte des Morts; aunt, Mary (Steve) Vercauteren, Suamico; as well as her very special friends, Jen Monger, Jessie Calewarts, Stephanie Theeke, Anna Koutchapova, and numerous cousins and other friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Carl and Esther Dhuey; her paternal grandfather, Robert Ekberg; and her paternal grandmother, Beverly Lehmann.
Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday. Sharing of Memories will take place at 7 p.m. Monday. Visitation will continue at funeral home on Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11 a.m. with Minister Deb Barlament officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Nicole's name.
