Burton A. "Burt" Berglin, 91, Green Bay, passed away, Wednesday, July 7, 2021. He was born July 16, 1929, in Green Bay to Clarence and Estelle (Burkhart) Berglin.
Burt was a 1949 graduate of Green Bay West High School. He worked at Olson Trailer and Body, and Schroeder's Flowers. Burt married Clarice Van de Leest on June 16, 1951 at Annunciation Catholic Church and they just celebrated 70 years.
Burt was an umpire for Babe Ruth Little League and at the Reformatory. He played hockey, volleyball, softball, and league horseshoes. After many years of playing league dart ball, Burt was inducted into the Wisconsin Dart Ball Hall of Fame. In all his endeavors, he cherished all the friendships he made along the way.
He really enjoyed 40 years at his trailer in Crivitz during which time many friendships were made. Burt was a hard worker, loving husband, dad, grandpa, and great-grandpa. He always said family was #1 to him, which included his brothers and sisters-in-law.
Survivors include his wife, Clarice; children, Darrell (Jan) Berglin, Cindy (Steve) Nimz, Lynn (Don) Kenney, Cathy (Kelly) Skinkis; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ruth Hallada, Sandra DeMille, Linda (Arlyn) Ward; and brother-in-law, Lou MacDougall.
Burt was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Leon Hallada, Jack DeMille, Jim Vollmar; and sisters-in-law, Marilyn MacDougall, and Janet Vollmar.
Visitation will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13; followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. A memorial fund has been established in Burt's name with donations made to either Unity Hospice or Paul's Pantry.
