Anthony "Tony" Johnson, 59, Village of Suamico, passed away surrounded by his family on Friday, October 3, 2008, at his home after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 25, 1948, in Green Bay to Chris and Lucille (Vannieuwenhoven) Johnson. On August 24, 1974, Tony was united in marriage to Jackie Herrmann at Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Green Bay. Tony was employed by various construction companies in the Green Bay area for many years. He was a longtime member of Labor Union #330. Tony enjoyed four wheeling, hunting, cutting wood, plowing snow, working on tractors and small engines and just being outdoors. He also enjoyed John Wayne movies. He liked having his morning breakfast at his "Second Home", Barleys and loved the company of his "Honey Ducks" and his many friends at the restaurant. Tony will be remembered for always pointing out the "good" wood piles. He enjoyed the many visits with Loretta and Ron, Steve and Mary, Pat and Sue.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie; a son, Jason Johnson and his special friend, Kim Koenig; DePere, his brothers and sisters and their spouses, Loretta (Ron) Devroy, Carol (Fran) Kasson, Fayette VanCampenhout (her friend Benny), Herbert Johnson, Karen (Max) Kirchenwitz, Sally Mills, Gayle (Dave) Hibbert, Randy (Barb) Johnson, two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Johnson, Joan Johnson, a brother-in-law, Melvin Delvoye, two sisters-in-law, Lynn (Vinny) Farina, Tammy Miller, a brother-in-law, Randy Meyer, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He is also survived by his good friend, who was like a brother to Jason, Bart Gagnon.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jim, Tom and Jerry Johnson; a sister, Marie Delvoye; a brother-in-law, Jerry VanCampenhout, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gene and Beverly Herrmann.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4-7:00 pm. Tuesday. The funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm. Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Don Behrendt officiating.

Tony's family thanks the nurses and staffs of St. Vincent Hospital and Unity Hospice for their special care of Tony. A special thanks to Dr. Jaslowski and Dr. Coleman for their care and concern. Special thanks to all the family and friends who gave their support and love.

A memorial fund has been established in his memory.
