Evelyn "Evie" Noel, 85, Green Bay, died Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011. She was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Milwaukee, to Thomas and Christine (Slivka) Zacher. On Nov. 30, 1957, she married Robert J. "Bob" Noel at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They lived in Green Bay, where Bob and Evie were charter members of St. Jude Parish. For over 35 years Evelyn taught music, including many years in the Green Bay School District. Evie loved music. She shared her talent with many in various capacities including the many years she spent as an organist for St. Jude Parish. She had also sung with the McDowell Club, the Angels, the M&I Prestige M & M Singers, the Russ Widoe's Green Bay Community Chorus and Green Bay Civic Music.
Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Dennis Zacher, Jim (Candi) Zacher, Mary (Roland) Zainer, Nancy Zacher, Marguerite Zacher; her great-nieces and great-nephews, Christine Zainer, Sue (Steve) Ingram, Eileen (Jim) Nolan, Jane Zainer, John Zainer, Mike Zainer, Joseph (Debbie) Zacher, Mary (Duane) Pickering, Tom (Barbara) Zacher, Alan (Doreen) Zacher, Ann Graf, Amy (John) Woloszyn, Cathy (Steven) Suvaka, Christopher (Jill) Zacher, Liz (Dan) Mowbray, Ellen (Craig) Sawicki, Joan (David) Kotland, Mrs. Mathew (Donna) Zacher.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Noel; her parents, Thomas and Christine Zacher; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Edmund and Lydia Zacher, Leonard and Ann Zacher, Thomas and Jean Zacher; two nephews, George Zacher, Donald Zacher; and a great-nephew, Mathew Zacher.
Friends may call at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the church with Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum.
