Yvonne K. Strauss, 86, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024. She was born April 7, 1938, in Orrin, North Dakota to Emanuel "Willie" and Odella (Schafer) Schneider.
Yvonne married William "Bill" A. Strauss on August 25, 1958, in Orrin, ND. Her brother, Father George Schneider performed the ceremony. At the time of their marriage Bill was in the U.S. Navy. Because of this Yvonne and Bill made many different cities their home including Portsmouth, VA, Moffet Field, CA, Sanford, FL, San Diego, CA, various cities in Washington State, and eventually, Green Bay, WI. Yvonne and Bill liked Green Bay and decided to make it their permanent home.
For 26 years she worked as the manager for One Hour Martinizing in the St. Agnes Plaza. She retired in 2000. She was an active member of St. Agnes Parish and was a member of the Community of Christian Women and the Navy Wives. Yvonne enjoyed reading, crocheting, and flowers. For many years she was an active volunteer for St. Vincent de Paul.
She is survived by her children, Dean (Anne) Strauss, Daryl (Caryn) Strauss, Daniel (Colleen) Strauss, Darren Strauss; grandchildren, Allison (Alex) Olson, Nicholas Strauss, Matthew (Caroline) Strauss, Christopher Strauss, Jacob (Courtney) Strauss; numerous greatgrandchildren; siblings, Marie Sveum, Stella Schiele, Martha Fennewald, Virginia (Dale) Davey and Romona (Gary) Schmitz; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Emanuel and Odella; brothers, Jim (MaryAnn), Jerome, Edwin (JoAnn), Clifford, and Monsignor George; sisters, Bonnie "Bonita" Schmitz, Ann (Raymond) Hager; sister-in-law, Barbara Schneider; brothers-in-law, Ralph Schiele, Leonard Fennewald, Walter Gefroh, Embert Sveum.
Friends and family will gather at St. Agnes Parish, 1484 Ninth St., from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13; Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Quinn Mann officiating and with Rev. Richard Getchel concelebrating. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
