Wilma Albertine Kozelek, 91, Green Bay, passed away Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She was born February 26, 1934, in Germany to Philipp Friedrich and Anna Christina (Bulster) Krüeck.
Wilma grew up in Germany. She was a child during WWII and lived through many intense times both during and after the war. After graduating from high school in Germany, she met and married Elmer Stanley Kozelek Sr. on August 9, 1954, while he was stationed in Germany. That same year they moved to the states. In 1956 she became a naturalized citizen of the United States which was very important to her. She still held onto much of her German heritage and was glad to be able to return to her home country for visits. Her German roots ran deep and she was proud to carry on her German legacy.
She was a woman of deep faith, that kept her strong during many of life's struggles. Wilma was an amazing wife and mother; she excelled as a homemaker. She was a wonderful cook and had a passion for food and providing food for others. Wilma was a constant caregiver and put her family before anything else. Wilma adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She loved to spend time up north with her family and cherished the time spent in Sugar Camp near Eagle River. The love of the Northwoods carries on through the family. Wilma was fiercely competitive and enjoyed playing cards, completing crosswords, and playing games. Her retirement years were spent on many trips to Florida and Germany. Wilma was blessed to spend many years with her loved ones, making friends near and far.
She is survived by her children, Karen Lind, Fred (Rose) Kozelek, Elmer Kozelek Jr., and special friend (Stephanie Drall), Jeff (Linda) Kozelek, Nancy (Bob) Van Beek, Steve (Dani) Kozelek; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and friends.
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Sr.; parents, Frederick and Christina; parents-in-law, Frank and Helen Kozelek; son-in-law, Bob Lind; daughter-in-law, Jill Kozelek.
Friends and family will gather at St. Jude Parish, 1420 Division St., from 9:30am to 11am on Wednesday, November 19; Mass to follow at 11am. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery, in Polonia, WI. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
