William Leonadis LuMaye, 93, Green Bay, passed away on Saturday, August 24, 2024. Bill was born in Green Bay, WI on May 3, 1931 to Raymond and Mary (Zentmeyer) LuMaye.

He graduated from Catholic Central High School, Class of 1949. In 1951 he married Elizabeth Charles. Bill married Judith (Kennedy) Phillips in 1968. He will be greatly missed as the cornerstone of the LuMaye family. Throughout his life, he was a devoted and faithful Christian and family man. He served Saints Edward and Isidore Church as an usher and helped to prepare young adults for their confirmation of faith for over 30 years.

Bill was blessed with leadership qualities. His willingness to be involved in community organizations was an on-going relationship. He served the Red Cross, the Brown County Unified Board and the Brown County Mental Health Association. In turn, they held his opinions, out-spoken attitudes, and professional efforts in high regard. He was active as a referee for WIAA High School girls volleyball for over 35 years. His die-hard energy playing basketball, volleyball and racquetball at the YMCA amazed even the younger members. Bill was also coach for his daughter's baseball team and they brought the championship to Suamico that year.

He was a loving husband and a strict and involved parent. Bill not only took particular pride in his family life, he worked hard on weekends taking special care mowing their large yard. He also liked fixing and repairing all his vintage Fiat X 1/9's. In 1999, Bill retired after 32 years with Aetna Life and Surety...but retirement was not part of his life's plan. Within two weeks he found a part-time job with Attorneys Processing and Investigation with his license to practice as a private detective and process server. A short time later, he found another part-time job with Shadow Process Serving from Rhinelander. He looked forward to going to work on a daily basis and was called "The Bulldog" by his co-workers and close friends. He retired completely at age 90.

Bill is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy; five sons, Bill (Jenn), Dick (Amy), Don (Karen), Bob, Dave (Karen); one daughter, Michele (TJ) Anderson; two step-daughters he considered his own, Patti (Mike) Ullsperger, Lisa (Mark) Waeghe; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents; grandchildren, Brianna LuMaye, Jacob LuMaye, infant twin great-grandsons; four brothers, Thomas, Donald, Raymond "Bud", Robert; and three sisters, Florence, Betty Jane, Karen Ann.

Bill's family will greet friends and relatives at Saints Edward and Isidore Church, 3667 Flintville Rd., on Friday, August 30 from 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Scott Valentyn officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Unity Hospice, 2366 Oak Ridge Circle, De Pere, WI 54115.

Bill's family wanted to extend a very special thank you to Brittany, with Unity Care Companion, Unity Home Hospice Care staff, Ashley, Kathy and Chaplain Steve, as well as the entire team at the Jack and Engrid Meng Hospice Residence.
