William "Bill" Paul Bronkhorst, 87, Green Bay, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on Friday, September 4, 2026, after an illness in the hospital. He was born August 22, 1939, in Marquette, MI to William and Louise Bronkhorst.
Bill was the second of four children. Right after graduating from high school, Bill entered the Navy and proudly served his country from 1956 to 1962. After his service he moved to Green Bay. Bill worked for Green Bay and Western Railroad until his retirement. He was a longtime supervisor for track repair and welders. Bill was good at his job and loved his work.
Bill met the love of his life Lois Prevost at a church dance. As they danced and talked, they found they had a lot in common and the two fell in love. They married on September 15, 1984 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Green Bay. Bill and Lois were each other's best friends for 42 years. They enjoyed long walks together and loved each other dearly.
Bill and Lois attended St. Agnes Parish and met many kind and loving people. They went to Mass at several Catholic Churches and enjoyed meeting so many kind people. Bill loved to fish and often went with his friends. He loved to cook his fresh catch and was generous with sharing his fresh perch, salmon, walleye, and other fresh catches.
He is survived by his best friend, loving and devoted wife, Lois; one sister, four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother, his parents-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
Friends and family will gather at St. Agnes Parish, 1484 Ninth St., from 10am to 11am on Friday, September 11; Mass to follow at 11am. Entombment will be at Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
Lois would like to thank the kind nurses and doctors who cared for Bill at St. Vincents Hospital and all the friends who prayed for him.
