William "Bill" A. Strauss, 85, Green Bay, passed away Monday, July 8, 2024. He was born August 11, 1938, in Harvey, ND to Aloysius B. and Marcella (Engelhard) Strauss.

Bill graduated from St. Cecilia Grade School in Harvey, ND and Notre Dame Academy in Willow City, ND and much later in life, graduated from NWTC in Green Bay. On September 28, 1956, just three days after graduating high school Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy. During that time, he was stationed in Portsmouth, VA, served on the USS Gurke, was later stationed in Moffet Field, CA, served two deployments in Vietnam and eventually moved to Green Bay, WI. While still in the Navy, Bill married Yvonne K. Schneider on August 25, 1958, in Orrin, ND. He received an Honorable Discharge after 20 years of service from the Navy. Bill then took classes at NWTC which led to a job at St. Agnes Parish. Bill served as office manager for the parish from 1976 until his retirement in 2001. After retirement from the parish, Bill continued to work on a part time basis as a driver for the Fox Valley Auto Auction. Bill was an active member of St. Agnes Parish. Bill also belonged to a number of organizations relating to his military career including the Duck Creek VFW, the Fleet Reserve Association, and the Retired Enlisted Association.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; children, Dean (Anne) Strauss, Daryl (Caryn) Strauss, Daniel (Colleen) Strauss, Darren Strauss; grandchildren, Allison Strauss, Nicholas Strauss, Matthew Strauss, Christopher Strauss, Jacob Strauss; numerous greatgrandchildren; brothers, Howard Strauss, Daniel (Peggy Ann) Strauss, Joyce Fry, Aloys (Linda) Strauss, Peter Strauss; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Aloysius and Marcella; sister, Jane; sister-in-law, Bobbie Strauss; brother-in-law, Joe Fry.

Friends and family will gather at St. Agnes Parish, 1484 Ninth St., from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13; Mass to follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Quentin Mann officiating and with Rev.
