Walter "Wally" Wasielewski, 85, Green Bay, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2025. He was born November 7, 1939, in Green Bay to Joseph and Regina (Kaczmarowski) Wasielewski.
Wally grew up in the Pulaski area and graduated high school in 1957. He married the love of his life, Donna Diederich at St. Agnes Catholic Church on October 31, 1959. They were inseparable and did everything they could together. Wally and Donna were best friends and partners. They showed their love for each other in tiny acts such as Donna cutting Wally's hair for over 62 years. Wally worked as a machinist and truck driver. He retired in 1998. They spent almost every weekend up north at Hilltop Resort. Wally enjoyed driving the golfcart, small-game hunting, and fishing. He had a strong bond with his boys and shared his love of fishing with them and brought them hunting in the fall. He enjoyed picking blackberries and gathering mushrooms with Donna. Wally loved to travel and made many trips to Canada and almost all 50 states. He enjoyed watching baseball and basketball and was an avid Brewers fan. Wally was a dedicated, husband, father, grandfather, and a man of strong faith. He was a devout Catholic who rarely missed Mass.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; sons, Doug (Debbie), Rick (Carolyn), Ray (Lori), Karl (Tina), Glenn (Robin); 14 grandchildren, Adam (Kim), Brandon (Kayla), Garrett (Bri), Terra (Tyler), Dana, Katelyn (Erick), Lexi, Ashley (Lucas), Nate (Bridgette), Zak (Katie), Ryan, Anna (Dylan), Josie (Sage), Allen; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Genny (Richard) Hodkiewicz, Joyce Diederich; brothers-in-law, Dick (Mary) Diederich, Jerry Blaser; sister-in-law, Joan Diederich; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Wally was preceded in death by his son, Chuck; great-granddaughter, Lilah; parents, Joseph and Regina; sister, Barbara (Ken) Schwinner; brother, Philip (Diana) Wasielewski; brothers-in-law, Jim Diederich, Jack Diederich; sister-in-law, Linda Blaser.
Friends and family will gather at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr., from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 13; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Benedict Catholic Cemetery.
