Violet A. Welch, 76, formerly of Las Vegas and recently of Green Bay, died Thursday Mar. 2, 2006 at a local hospital. She was born July 18, l929 in De Pere to the late Marvin and Agnes (Polzin) Munger.

Violet had been employed at The Silver Nugget Casino in Las Vegas, Nev. She was an active member of the churches she belonged to both in Las Vegas and in Green Bay.

Survivors include seven children and their spouses, Judy (Robert) Struess, Minn.; Diane (Patrick) Dorgan, Green Bay; Carolyn (Bill) Mishler, Deerbrook, Wis.; Linda (Jerry) Stoekert, Oshkosh; Morris Welch, Las Vegas, Nev.; Daniel Welch, Pahrump, Nev.; Ivan (Mary) Welch, Green Bay; sixteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; six sisters and one brother and their spouses, Margaret Byrd, Bonduel; Marvin and Yvonne Munger, Pahrump, Nev.; Alice Jordan, Kewaunee; Rose and Bill Cooper, Oneida; Kathy Pizanowski, Mc Henry, Ill.; Nathalie and Richard Klein, Logansville, Ga.; 37 nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son, Eugene; two sisters, Beatrice Diedrick, Annabelle Kropp.

Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday. There will be a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at Riverview Baptist Church, 2605 S. Libal St., from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Shawn Suri officiating. Burial will be in Oneida Methodist Church Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established in her name.
