Thomas M. "Newt" Nuthals Sr., 80, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was born April 2, 1943, in Green Bay to George and Ruth (Mahn) Nuthals.

Tom graduated from West High School, Class of 1962.  He attended NWTC to obtain a masonry degree. He had a 50 plus year career as a mason and was a proud member of the Local #3 Bricklayers Union. He took great pride in his work. His proudest construction project was the building of his own home from the ground up. It was "the only brick house on the block." Tom was a member of the National Guard. During his retirement he drove a Zamboni, to his great enjoyment, at Cornerstone Community Center.

On May 17, 1996 he married his high school sweetheart Carolyn Seiler. A true hallmark movie love story. He met Carolyn in high school. A year and half after graduating the two were engaged. The engagement was broken off and they went their separate ways. Both lived their lives getting married and having children. They re-met 30 years later and on that same day planned their wedding, while watching the sunset over the bay.

Tom excelled at sports. He was an outstanding football player in high school, was a star quaterback and continued to play football with the semi-pro team the Manitowoc Chiefs. With his love of competitive sports he played, AAA Classic League fast pitch softball for more than 15 years. Tom was also an avid bowler and enjoyed coaching youth sports.

He was an avid and devoted deer hunter. Many hunting trips and special times were spent at the Leary's cabin, creating a fantastic friendship with the Leary family. He had a true love of being in the woods (as long as someone could help get him out) and hunting and he passed along that love of the outdoors on to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn; children, Jodi (Paul) Kozloski, Tom Jr. (Melissa) Nuthals; stepchildren, Kim Klein, Pam Kelly; grandchildren, Abigail (Kaitlin) Pfeifer, Alana (Trinton Menomin) Kozloski, Alysse Kozloski, Kennedy (Jim) Rottier, Chase Nuthals, Lucas Nuthals, Rosalie Nuthals; step-grandchildren, Coco Klein, Penn Klein, Ivy Klein, Jonah Lotter; one great-grandchild, Veyda Menomin; sister, Nancy Boser; twin brother, Tim (Sandra) Nuthals; brothers, Chuck (Dawn) Nuthals, Jeff (Pat) Nuthals; sister-in-law, Jackie Nuthals; step-brother, Jerry (Colleen) Zich; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth; stepmother, Florence Zich Nuthals; brother, George Nuthals Jr; sister, Jean Nuthals; stepsister, Judy Zich; brother-in-law, Carl Boser; father-in-law, Elmer Seiler; mother-in-law, Katie Seiler; beloved dog, Tobasco.
