Thomas J. Morgan, passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016. He was born on June 17, 1944, in Green Bay, WI to Martin J. and Idell F. Morgan.

Tom graduated from Premontre High School. He attended the University of Wisconsin – Whitewater, where he also played football. Tom was drafted into the Marine Corps on January 24, 1966 and was honorably discharged on January 22, 1968, as a Lance Corporal, E3. He served overseas in Okinawa. Upon discharge, Tom returned to Whitewater for a short time. He worked at the Green Bay Press-Gazette for 30 years, retiring in 1999 as a Pressman.

The travel bug bit Tom and he traveled to Ireland many times with his mother and sister. He also discovered London and traveled there many times as well. Tom explored all the nooks and crannies of London and loved to tell stories about his travels.

He never met a stranger. He was a good man who would give you his last nickel if you needed it. Tom was known for his candy bars. He always made sure he had just the right candy for his "Ladies at River's Edge Apartments" – ("I'm just one of the girls" he would say), and for anyone else he happened to meet.

The last few years were difficult for Tom, due to many medical problems. He faced all these with a good attitude. Many thanks to the VA for the excellent care of Tom during the past few years.

He loved trivia and Jeopardy was his favorite TV show. Tom and his sister would compete and see who could get the final Jeopardy answer.

Tom is survived by his sister, Mary, Green Bay; brothers: Mike (Jean), Green Bay; and Dr. Martin (Diane), Milwaukee. He is further survived by nieces and nephews: Michelle (Paul) Spanbauer, Oshkosh; Anne (Mark) Koniecko, Downers Grove, IL; Pat (Mai) Morgan, St. Michael, MN; Brian (Sarah) Morgan, Pulaski, WI; Meghan (Ryan) Juinio, Redondo Beach, CA; Matt (Richelle) Morgan, West St. Paul, MN; Christopher Morgan, Crystal, MN; his great nieces and nephews: Sara, Ryan, and Lisa Koniecko; Aiden and Kyle Morgan; Meghan and Jackson Morgan; Skyler Juinio; Andrew Morgan; Henry and Ellie Reiff; and many cousins.

He will be sadly missed by his best friend, Ruby, Sam and all the great ladies and other residents at the River's Edge Apartments.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts.

Visitation will be held at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday, October 10, 2016. The Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with family friend, Deacon Andy Meuler officiating. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

We wish to thank the Green Bay Fire Dept. for responding to Tom's calls. Our thanks are also extended to St. Vincent Hospital ER and ICU for the caring and competent care given to Tom and his family.

Rest in peace dear brother. Until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand. Irish Blessing
