Thomas M. Lally was born on October 27, 1936, to Ethel M. (Hollister) and Chester J. Lally in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He graduated from St. Patrick's Grade School, Central Catholic High School, and Marquette University.

In 1964 he married Shirley E. Tilkens at Annunciation Church. They had four children: Mary Whitman (Steve), Michael (Kat), Patrick (Amy) and David (Jen). He was very grateful for six grandchildren whom he adored, Meghan and Erin Whitman, Caleb, Sophia, Ethan, and Grace Lally.

Tom started his Career with Arthur Andersen & Co. He then worked for Union Tank Car Co., Control Data Corp., and for over thirty years with Miller Electric Mfg. Co. Six of those years as Managing Director of A.S.C.I. Miller Spa in Milan Italy. He was an Executive V. P. of Miller Electric and a member of the Board of Directors.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Ethel and Chet and his brothers Patrick and William.

He left the following letter to his family and friends:

"I know that my time here is nearly at an end and it's time to say goodbye, I wish for all my friends and family a moment for a smile at a goofy memory and a tear because we won't be spending any more time together, for now.

I don't know what comes next. My faith tells me it will be an eternity of peace and happiness shared with my Creator. I sure hope I got that right.

But, after you have shed one tear because there is now one more empty seat at the table, and I have no more songs and jokes to share, look around you at who and what you have and be grateful. Hug your families and friends because, at the end of our days they are all we have to carry on our name, our Faith, our stories and our love.

I have had mostly a good life. Certainly, it's been a long one. I have seen a lot of this world. I have wined and dined on fine cuisine. I learned a second language. I have skied the Alps and the Rockies. I even attended the "Ice Bowl Game" as well as many others. "GO Pack"!!! I have seen my children and grandchildren grow up and am inordinately proud of all of them. Some of my happiest hours were spent on my sailboats. The Limerick one and two brought me many fond memories.

I have said a private goodbye to Shirley, and I will leave it at that. However, I want to wish that you all have someone in your lives like her. She is an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend.

It's time now to say "arrivederci" until we meet again.

God bless and keep you all in the palm of his hand."
