Thomas Michael Fisher, 61, of Suamico, WI, passed away on Saturday, October 8 th after a courageous and hard-fought battle with Glioblastoma. Tom was born on April 26, 1961, to Charles and Gladys (Olson) Fisher in Ashland, WI.
Tom grew up in Ashland, WI where he attended Ashland High School. He was involved in sports and met the love of his life and soulmate Jane (Yachinich) Fisher while in High School. They were married for 40 wonderful years and built the most beautiful life together. Following their marriage, Tom and Jane moved to Eau Claire, WI where he graduated from linemen school, and then moved to Green Bay, WI where he began at Wisconsin Public Service, and had a 36-year career with WPS before retiring.
Tom was a devoted husband, dad, and grandpa and family meant everything to him. He was well known as being a gentle giant who would do anything for anyone. The respect and loyalty Tom had for all those around him was extraordinary. His hard work ethic and determination was truly inspirational and exemplified through all that he did.
Tom's hobbies included hunting, fishing, and enjoying all outdoor activities such as golfing with friends, hiking, biking, and snowshoeing. Tom also enjoyed vacationing and having a great time with family and close friends, and in fact, Tom was always the life of the party when it came to social gatherings and was always making sure everyone was having a great time! He was great at making people laugh and always leaving a social gathering with some sort of story that would forever be a memory people will always remember and cherish. He loved watching sports, especially the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers, but nothing compared to his love of being involved and cheering on his kids and grandkids in their sports. You could often find him in a gym either cheering his daughter on in basketball or coaching his son on the wrestling mat. Most recently you could find Tom at the ball fields where he absolutely loved cheering on his grandson and the Bay Port Pirates U12 baseball team and traveling to Florida to watch is granddaughter in gymnastics and grandson in soccer. He was always so proud of his kids and grandkids and loved nothing more than being their number one fan!
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jane; daughter Lindsey (Ryan) Larson; son Nathan Fisher (Kaitlin Kubiak); three grandchildren, Ryder, Rylin and Tommy; three sisters Lavone (Michael) Greenwood, Julene (Bill) Annala, Jeri (Ralph) Bloomquist; Mother-in-Law Harriet Yachinich, three Brothers-in-Law Joe (Tammy) Yachinich, John Yachinich, Jerry (Debbie) Yachinich; two Sisters-in-Law Judy (Scott) Collard, Jean (Paul) Vanlaarhoven; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Tom was predeceased by his parents Charles and Gladys Fisher and Father-in-Law John Yachinich.
