Theda Nero, 101, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024. She was born January 25, 1923, in Minco, OK to Lee and Helen (Halley) Borders.

Theda attended Oklahoma State University where she received a two-year secretary degree. She worked in Oklahoma City as a Secretary at an allergy clinic. Theda moved to Omaha, NE and met her future husband, John Nero. The two were married in May of 1946. Together they had four children. In 1952 they moved to and settled in Green Bay. Theda started volunteering at St. Vincent Hospital and hospice care. Her main focus was her family, and she was primarily a dedicated stay at home mom. Theda was a longtime member of First Presbyterian in Green Bay since the early 1950's. She loved crafting and made many Christmas decorations and Danish embroidery pictures. Theda was a wonderful cook. She enjoyed trips to Door County and watching the Wisconsin Badgers Band.

She is survived by her children, Pam (Jerry) Lemerond, John (Lori) Nero, Rick Nero, David Nero; grandchildren, Kelly (Nick) Charapata, Ken (Mycha) Lemerond, Zoe Nero, Cyd (Adam) Pearlstein; great-grandchildren, Alexa (Zach) Kurtzbach, James Charapata, Zackary Lemerond, Kira Freese, Ezekiel Freese; great-great-grandchildren, Rylee, Scarlett.

Friends and family will gather at First Presbyterian Church, 200 S Ashland Ave., from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. on Friday, April 26; The Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Katie Estes.
