Terry Jules Longrie, 84, Green Bay, WI, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 22, 2023, following complications from cancer.

He was born on November 12, 1938, the only child of Elmer and Myrtle Longrie.  He attended St. Mary of the Angel's grade school and graduated from Premontre High School with the Class of 1957.  He was active in scouting with Troop 4 of the Nicolet Area Council and he earned the prestigious honor of Eagle Scout in 1955.  He spent many summers camping and earning merit badges at Bear Paw Scout Camp and later as kitchen staff.  After high school he joined the United States Air Force and was active from 1958-1962.  He was stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas and later in Karamursel, Turkey, with the Communication Intelligence Services as a Morse Code Interceptor.  In 2004 he attended the Karamursel 60-61 reunion in Williamsburg, Virginia and was so happy to reconnect with fellow veterans he served with.  He was so very proud of his military service to the United States of America.

On May 9, 1964, he married the former Beverly A. Traeger.  Together they raised three daughters.  He provided a solid foundation for his family.  He protected his girls and loves them unconditionally.  Beverly preceded him in death in 1990.

He was a successful man and provided well for his family.  He was employed as a machinist at FMC Corporation in Green Bay for over 25 years.  He worked at several other small machine shops in the area until his retirement.

He was a member of the Brown County Sportsman's Club where he shot trap for over 30 years.  He was a very good shot – often times scoring 25/25.  He was proud of his team, Arrow Concrete, for taking first place in many leagues.  He enjoyed annual deer hunting trips up to "the shack" with his buddies where he also enjoyed a good game of Sheepshead.  He loved watching Wisconsin sports – Packers, Brewers, and Badgers, and he was a Packers season ticketholder.

He is survived by his three daughters – Jean (Steve) Hutte, Green Bay, Patricia (Roger) Maccoux, Green Bay, and Carol (Rod) Peer, Green Bay; four grandchildren – David (Mary) Hutte, Toledo, Ohio, James (Lisa) Hutte, Norwalk, Ohio, Brady Peer, Green Bay, and Brooke Peer, Green Bay; five great-grandchildren – Zachary, Audrey and Genevieve Hutte, Jamisen and Sawyer Hutte.

He is further survived by brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Robert (Bernadine) Traeger; brother-in-law, James Hoffman; brother-in-law, Wayne Splitgerber; many dear nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Beverly, and several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Services will be held at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. Green Bay, from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, October 30, 2023.  Wake service at 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1421 Division St. Green Bay; followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m.  Entombment at Allouez Catholic Cemetery and Chapel Mausoleum. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

Terry's family would like to thank Dr. Groteluschen and the staff of Green Bay Oncology, the nurses of Home Health, especially Sue, and his neighbors who always kept a close eye on him.  Your care and concern will never be forgotten.

He never looked for praises, he was never one to boast,

he just went on quietly working for the ones he loved the most.

His dreams were seldom spoken and his wants were very few,

and most of the time his worries went unspoken too.

He was always there – a firm foundation through many storms of life,

a sturdy hand to hold on to in times of stress and strife.

He was someone we could turn to when times were good or bad,

one of our greatest blessings was the man we called our dad.

Rest in peace dad – we love you and miss you so much.
