Suzanne "Suzie" Van Lanen (Pavlat), 87, passed away on March 9, 2024, at home surrounded by her beloved family.

Suzie was born on February 2, 1937, in Green Bay to the late Raymond and Ceil Pavlat.

She married the love of her life, Ken Van Lanen, on November 3, 1956 at St. Patrick's Church, Green Bay. Together as soulmates they shared 68 incredible years. Over the years Ken always took such good care of Suzie and they set a true example of what love is.

As a teenager, Suzie, along with her best, and lifelong friend, Shirley, worked six years in the pediatric ward at the old St. Vincent Hospital. She loved the children and was even known to baptize ill newborns. Suzie also worked 24 years for the Green Bay Area Public School District as a monitor at Southwest High School.

In her younger days, Suzie enjoyed traveling with her husband, sister, and in-laws. They made countless memories up north at Popps Resort and vacationed all around the country. Suzie was also a social lady and was fortunate to have many dear friends throughout her life. She enjoyed lunching with the girls (particularly the red-hatters), playing card games, line dancing, and eating out at local restaurants- especially the Bay Family Restaurant. Suzie and her sister spent many Saturday nights at the casino, where she often found luck on the slot machines. Suzie also enjoyed shopping and flower arranging. She and her family were very close. Suzie's deep faith in God was something that she passed onto her children who were her pride and joy.

Survivors include her husband, Ken, whom she loved very much; two daughters, Debbie (Jean Marie) Pominville, and Peggy Seim; three grandchildren: Jason (Kim) Pominville, Christine Pominville and Jennifer Seim (Diego); twin sister, Sarah Hyska; nephews: Bob (Rhonda); Roger (Polly); Ron (Mary); Godson, Rick (Yvonne) Van Lanen; one special niece, Ann (Doug) Wichman; and four great-grandchildren: Jayden, Kaylee Rose, Ryan and Mya.

Suzie is preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Mary Van Lanen; brother-in-law, Donald Hyska; and son-in-law, Teddy Melotte.

Friends and family will gather at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 9th St. on Saturday, March 16 from 9-11am. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 with Rev. Patrick C. Beno officiating. To send online condolences, please visit www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

The family would like to thank the staff of Unity Hospice. Without their gentle, professional care Suzie would've never been able to stay at home.
