Susan Rhode, 75, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023.  She was born July 29, 1948, in Shawano to Carl and Anita (Schultz) Marohl.  Susan grew up in Pulcifer and graduated from Gillett High School. She was employed with C.A. Lawton Company for 33 years. Throughout her life she worked hard to take care of her family.  Susan's greatest joy was being a mom to her two daughters, Holly and Kris, and a grandmother. She adored her granddaughter, Lilian.

She loved being outside. On most sunny days, you could find her tending the beautiful blooming flowers she planted. She cherished time spent with her friends and neighbors. She made friends easily and all summer long she and her friends enjoyed hanging out on her porch.  She had a few indoor hobbies as well. She was a consummate collector and an avid decorator with an innate knack for finding treasures in second hand and thrift stores. While on the hunt for things for her own home, she also had an avid eye for items that others collected. Her friends and family members benefited from these excellent thrift scores. She was very busy in December when she made beautiful wreaths and centerpieces at Christmastime.

Susan comes from a clan of diehard card players! Relatives and friends alike were often at the table playing sheepshead. The games were loud and raucous. She looked forward to getting together with people. She loved music, especially Elvis Presley. She liked fishing, golfing, and gambling. She was a curious, adventurous woman. She loved fun motorcycle rides on the back of her daughter Kris' motorcycle. She liked Vegas as much as a quiet beach.  Many people affectionately called her "Queenie" because she was simply magnificent.

Susan will be missed by her two daughters, Holly Rhode and Kristine Rhode; granddaughter, Lilian Rhode; three brothers, Charles Marohl, Dale (Pat) Marohl, Marlin (Mary) Marohl; father of her girls, Bruce Rhode; sister-in-law, Audrey Marohl; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, Lois (Ed) Krings, Allen Marohl; nieces and nephew, Patty, Mike and Terese; her dog, Mister.

Visitation will be at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, November 26. The Memorial Service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Kris, Lilian, and Holly extend their gratitude to the staffs of Bellin hospital 7th floor and Woodside Nursing Center.
