Susan Kay Barbera, age 70, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024 in De Pere, WI with her husband Robert (Bob) R. Barbera and her beloved canine companion Daisy at her side following a brief illness.  Susan was born on October 26, 1954 in Aurora, Illinois to Donald and Margaret nee Nordell Burnside and raised in Downers Grove, Illinois. She attended Downers Grove Community High School South and graduated in 1972.

Sue spent her younger years with her family at their summer cottage in Three Lakes, WI where she spent as much time as possible on the water. She was a member of the Three Lakes Aqua Devils water ski club. She later settled in Three Lakes and there met Bob, who vacationed there. They married and she moved with Bob to his home in Oneida, WI. Truth be known, Bob and Susan didn't spend much time in the Green Bay area. They enjoyed as much time as possible at their summer home in St. Germain, WI. Later they enjoyed traveling in their motor coach and wintering in Naples, FL. Susan was an avid cook and has left a legacy of many shared recipes. She enjoyed working in the yard, crocheting, knitting, and needlework. Maybe most of all, she loved to spend time with friends. The highlight of her day was her walk with her beloved pets, especially her energetic pal Daisy. She was also an avid angler and looked forward to their frequent trips to Canada.

She is survived by her husband, Bob; a daughter, Robin Barbera; brother D. Phillip (Bernadette) Burnside; sister Terry Lee (James L.) Moore, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition, she leaves a stepdaughter, Julie (Marvin) Smith, two granddaughters and seven great grandchildren.

Interment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park in the Barbera family plot.
