Stephen H. Kidd, 72, Ashwaubenon, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018. He was born on June 16, 1945, to Howard Kidd and Marjorie (Wardlow) Wery.

Steve graduated from Green Bay West High School. Following high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps, serving in Vietnam. He met and married Mary Engels on April 25, 1970. It was quite an accomplishment that they were given 48 years together. Steve worked for Nicolet Paper Company and later for Vos Electric.

Steve loved spending time with his kids, Joe and Jessica (she preceded him in death in 2016). Whatever the kids were doing, he was there to support and encourage them, whether it was softball, fishing, or Girl Scouts. Ever since his grandson came along, his world revolved around Preston. He was definitely Grandpa's boy. Steve was also a very special "Grandpa" to Teagan, Tim and Cora Blohowiak.

Steve was always on the go, keeping busy and helping others. He was very active in his community. Steve held various positions at the Ashwaubenon VFW including Commander, Senior Vice, Junior Vice, and Adjutant – earning the White Hat three times. He was also the Junior Vice Commander of Brown County Council. Steve served as the second Vice President of Friends of Brown County Memorial. He was a member of the Ashwaubenon Historical Society and the Knights of Columbus. Steve spent many years taking care of the VFW Park. He led the Military Salute at Nativity Parish every summer and also helped put up flags at many cemeteries for veterans' holidays. Steve was also an active member of the Ashwaubenon VFW's Honor Guard, performing the rifle salute for hundreds of veterans. He was also a member of the planning committee for LZ Lambeau.

In their retirement, Steve and Mary loved to travel, going on many wonderful adventures together.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kidd; his son, Joseph Kidd; grandson, Preston Stephen Wiskow; mother-in-law, Ceil Engels; siblings, Donald, Jerry, James, Kathleen "Susie" Delveaux, and Jean Vogel; sister-in-law, Patricia Melville; brother-in-law, Ed Engels; goddaughter, Ava Scholz; godson, Michael Engels; and many other family members, special neighbors, and friends.

In addition to his daughter, Jessica Kidd, Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Kidd and Marjorie Wery; and his father-in-law, Clarence Engels.

Friends may call at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida St., from 9 a.m. to 12 noon Saturday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 noon with Rev.
