Shirley Rae Seppel, 94, Howard, passed away Monday, January 5, 2026. She was born November 17, 1931, in Goodman, WI to Ervin "Duke" and Anne (Bauer) McLain.

Shirley attended Florence High School and graduated from Green Bay West High School in 1949. She married Michael M. Seppel on May 20, 1950 at the West Side Moravian Church. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1978. Shirley was a longtime CNA at St. Vincent Hospital and continued to volunteer at the hospital well into her 80's. She also worked as a cook for the Howard Suamico Schools and was affectionately known to everyone as Auntie Shirley. She was a talented cook who made the best cookies. Shirley was a longtime member of the Eastern Stars and loved animals, especially her cats. Shirley enjoyed golfing, playing cards, and Yahtzee. She cherished trips up north with Blaine and visits with family and friends. Shirley loved her family and was always available for her children and grandchildren. Spending time with her loved ones brought her peaceful joy. Shirley was content, never asking for more or wanting less.

She is survived by her children, Blaine Seppel, Michael Seppel; grandchildren, Dustin Seppel, Brad Seppel, Michelle Steeno; great-grandchildren, Ryan, Kayla, Trevor, Blake, Ashton, Kristen, Hunter, Ashton, Carter, Sylis, Zaian, Serenity, Hunter; a great-great-grandsons, Leo and Jordy; sister, Linda Baetsen; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Michael; children, Gary Seppel, Bradley (Sandy) Seppel,; grandson, Jason Seppel; great-grandson, Curtis Steeno; parents, Ervin and Anne; brother-in-law, Dan Baetsen.
