It is with deep despair we share the news of our beloved daughter and sister, Selena Elyse Rasmussen, passing into her eternal life with Jesus on November 27, 2025. Selena was born June 23, 1993 in Green Bay, to Chris and Christine (Fricke) Rasmussen.
Selena attended King Elementary School, Lombardi Middle School and graduated from Green Bay Southwest High School in 2011. Following her dream to work in fashion, she earned a Bachelors degree from University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2015. While attending college, Selena interned for Target Corporation and was hired upon graduation. Selena held different roles such as merchandising and purchasing across various clothing lines. Selena also took on contract projects to help with fundraisers, fashion shows, and other events. Selena, herself, enjoyed walking the runway for charity and fashion galas.
Selena's passion for fashion began as a toddler. She collected crowns, tiaras, and princess dresses. She borrowed her Mom's shoes and jewelry to complete her looks.
Selena was a top-tier Swiftie who attended many concerts and knew every word to every song on every album. She was also well versed in the sub-context of each lyric, as all good Swifties are. Selena never lost a Taylor Swift trivia contest.
Selena was a cat mom who loved her cat, Garbanzo. She and "G" spent many hours together watching their favorite shows. Selena was also a huge Green Bay Packers fan as well as a Minnesota Loons fan. She proudly wore her team jerseys and attended many games for both teams.
Selena loved spending time with her cousins at Grandma and Grandpa's cottage. They spent many fun weekend riding daisy, sidewalk chalking, making forts, rummaging, going to tick races, catching crabs and sitting around the campfire.
Selena will be remembered for her sweetness and wicked sense of humor. Though those characteristics don't seem to blend together, she approached life with unique charm and was loved and admired by many.
Selena is survived by her parents, Chris and Christine Rasmussen; her brother, Gabriel Rasmussen; grandmother, Ruth Fricke; aunt, Coree (Warren) Wallander; uncles, Tom (Monica) Fricke, Jayson (Dipti) Fricke; cousins, Sam (Claire) Wallander, Travis Wallander, Reegan (Tyler) Hanlon, Jackson Fricke, CeCe Fricke, Myrna Fricke-Shah, Saoirse Fricke-Shah, Jason Chrest, Mark Chrest, Sam Oswald, Earl Oswald; and other relatives and many, many friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Mark and Janice Rasmussen; maternal grandfather, Larry Fricke; aunt and uncle, Cindy (Rick) Oswald; as well as her beloved cat, Garbanzo Beans Rasmussen.
