Sandra Lee Mielke, 83, Green Bay, passed away peacefully at Bellin Hospital on Saturday, December 20, 2025. She was born October 20, 1942 in Green Bay to Leo and Catherine (Maus) Thirion.
Sandy graduated from Green Bay West in 1961. She met her future husband, Dennis Mielke, at a high school dance. They were married on October 3, 1964 at St Jospeh Catholic Church. Sandy started her employment at Harbor Credit Union after her children were older. Sandy was a hard worker and worked her way up to the manager of the West side branch.
Sandy took great pride in her backyard and enjoyed puttering around in her meticulously kept garden. She would enjoy sitting on her swing and watching the birds that she loved to feed. When she wasn't in her backyard, she would be found crafting and painting. She created many beautiful ceramic figures that she would decorate each season with. Sandy's biggest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She seldom complained though any of life's bumps.
She is survived by her children, Lisa (Scott) Dreier, Scott (Kris) Mielke; grandchildren, Jessica (Adam) Baeten, Hayley Skalecki, Allison Mielke, Megan Mielke; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Baeten, Savannah Baeten, Jonathon Baeten; sister-in-law, Connie Thirion; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis; her parents; brother, Jerry Thirion; brother-in-law, Brian (Jeannine) Mielke; and numerous half siblings.
Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave. from 4:30 to 7 pm Tuesday, December 30. The Funeral Service will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
Sandy's family extends their gratitude to the compassionate and attentive nursing staff and doctors of the 4th floor at Bellin Hospital and to staff of Unity Hospice for their guidance and care.
