Sandra "Sandy" Jean Cottingham, 86, Green Bay, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, November 8, 2024. She was born November 24, 1937, in Shawano to Ruben and Beulah (Salzman) Moede.

Sandy graduated from Shawano High School, Class of 1955. She then went on to Radgon Business College, graduating from their secretary and bookkeeping program. Sandy married Donald R. Cottingham on August 13, 1960, at St. James Lutheran Church in Shawano. He preceded her in death on July 24, 2013. She enjoyed bowling, doubles tennis, going for walks, watching sports, playing cards, playing board games, feeding her critters, spending time with her beloved cat, Tweety, playing iPad games, and playing bridge. She was a longtime member of Western Racquet Club and Western Lanes.

She is survived by her son, Randy Cottingham and his husband, James Burns; sister, Andrea Hoerres; brothers, Richard Moede, James Moede; many beloved nieces and nephews; very close family friends, Carrie Whipple and her son, Austin; as well as Ruth Anne Christophersen and her family, and her feline companion, Tweety.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents, Ruben and Beulah; parents-in-law, William and Harriet Cottingham; brother-in-law, Leonard Cottingham and wife June; nephew, Timothy Rodriguez; as well as close family friend, Dave Christophersen.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Sunday, November 24; a celebration of Sandy's life will follow at 12:00 p.m. (noon). To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
