Ruth M. Widmyer, 88, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024. She was born March 9, 1936, in Lancaster, PA to Charles E. and Mary A. Widmyer.

Ruth was always willing to care for others and worked as a registered nurse. She retired from St. Vincent Hospital. Even when formally retired she remained a caretaker.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Carol and Donald Shroyer, David and Debra Jolly, Donald and Lori Jolly; great-nieces and nephews, Mark Shroyer, Anne (Attila) Shroyer Gabor, Elizabeth (Joseph) Jolly-Haslitt; great-great-nieces, Zoe and Hana.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary; sister, Janice (Francis) Jolly.

Friends and family will gather at St. Agnes Parish, 1484 Ninth St., from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Friday, September 27; a service to honor Ruth's service as a nurse will be held at 9:30 a.m. by the Wisconsin Nurses Honor Guard. Ruth's family would like to invite any licensed/registered/advanced practice nurse, active or retired, to attend. Mass to follow at 10 a.m. with Rev. Quinn Mann officiating.
