Ronald "Ron" L. Zuelsdorf, 79, Howard, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2026. He was born April 12, 1947, in Green Bay to Irvin and Margaret (Latham) Zuelsdorf.
Ronald graduated from Green Bay West High School, Class of 1965. He served in the Army Reserves during the Vietnam era and married the love of his life, Patricia Cowell on October 21,1972. Ronald started working for the Green Bay Western Railroad as a switchman and was a treasurer by the time he retired. He did not idly spend his retirement - it was filled with learning, creativity, travel, and sports. Ronald was curious and appreciated many works of art; he thought perhaps that he could start a creative hobby, so he enrolled in art classes at UW - Green Bay. Ronald found he had a talent for pottery and was hooked. He and Pat traveled to art fairs across the country selling his pottery and later he would sell his works of stained glass. Ronald dabbled in many mediums but found he enjoyed pottery and stained glass the most. He loved fly fishing and would spend a month with friends in Montana fishing every year. He would golf with the guys on Tuesdays and if a vacation didn't include golfing or fishing, it was likely he would be staying home with the dogs. Ronald held a stockbroker's license and was a sports fanatic. He loved all sports and was known to place a bet or two, on occasion. Even more than pottery, golf, or fishing he loved and adored his family. Ronald was a dedicated husband and father. He shared with his children his love of learning and loved to teach them anything.
He is survived by his wife, Pat; son, Jeff (Andrea) Zuelsdorf and their son, Zach; daughter, Lindi Scholtz; as well as extended family and many friends.
Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Margaret; brother, Dean Zuelsdorf; and nephew, Ben Zuelsdorf.
Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
