Rogene "Jean" Marie Maus, 92, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023. She was born June 5, 1931, in Howard to the late Lawrence and Pearl (Lemerond) Brunette.

Jean graduated from St. Joseph Academy, Class of 1949. She married Mearl "Mick" Joseph Maus on June 18, 1955, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2020. Jean was a charter member of St. Jude Catholic Church where she was an active member of the St. Jude Women's Club. She attended mass regularly and was also often baking and serving others at church events. In 1995 she retired from her job at NWTC, where she worked for over 20 years.  Her colleagues became her friends, and she maintained those relationships after retiring.  In retirement, Jean volunteered her time at the Green Bay Botanical Gardens and St. Jude School.

Jean was an amazing cook and hosted many gatherings for birthdays, holidays, and summer booyahs. At these events our home was filled with extended family and friends. There was always plenty of home-prepared food, most often a beautiful cake from Hansen's, good company, and laughter. Throughout the years Jean found great joy in family relationships. She very much appreciated the cards, phone calls, and visits over the years. She joined the digital age so she could keep up via text messages. During each phone call or visit, she asked about her grown grandchildren and her great grandchildren. She took an interest in their lives and found humor in the antics of the great-grandchildren. Phone calls often ended with "give the kids a hug for me". Jean didn't miss a birthday or anniversary, sending cards, or reaching out by phone or text message. Her grandchildren near and far stayed connected to her; those in Wisconsin visiting often, and those far away via text messages, letters, phone calls and visiting Grandma Jean when in town. Those connections will leave a void in our lives and gratitude in our hearts.

She is survived by her children, Becky (John) Woest, Lynn (Dave) Boye, Sue Vaughan, Julie (Paul) Plamann, Beth (Robb) Wied; her beloved grandchildren, Ashley (Alex) Wichmann, Ian (Sarah) Woest, Garrett (Lena) Boye, Emily (Ernest) Reynosa, Austin (Anna) Vaughan, Megan and Katie Plamann, Evan (Hailey Brabant) and Claudia Wied; great-grandchildren, Jubilee and Fox Reynosa, and Oliver Wichmann; sister-in-law, Kathie Brunette. She will be greatly missed by her family.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband, Mick; siblings, Doris (Larry) Hussong, Carol (Les) Gauthier, Larry Brunette.

The Maus family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated and compassionate staff of Emerald Bay Retirement Community for making Jean feel like she was at home. Jean was a well-loved resident at Emerald Bay since 2019 and will be missed. She was warm and friendly to other residents and well connected and loved by the staff.

In accordance with Jean's wishes, private family services will be held. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
