It is with great sadness that the family of Richard Westein announce his passing on December 18, 2025 at the age of 88. He was surrounded by his loving family as he was welcomed into the arms of Jesus as he was called home to God. He was born February 12, 1937 in Coleman, WI to Raymond and Helen (Robbins) Westein.

He grew up in the Coleman/Lena area and at 16, began working for room and board at Leonard Weisnicht Farm near Hofa Park, WI. It was there that he met and fell in love with Maxine Brusky, the neighbors "Farmer's Daughter." While home on leave they were married on January 26, 1957 the coldest and snowiest day of the year.

At the tender age of 17, he enlisted into the US Army. He served in the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He would proudly tell anyone who asked that he served 5 years, 3 months, and 25 days. After his honorable discharge, he and his wife lived and raised their children in Green Bay. He worked for a short time at Green Bay Drop Forge and then started his lifetime career of 34 years for the City of Green Bay Street Department. He also worked part-time parking cars at the Packer Stadium and yes, he was there for the Ice Bowl and was lucky to get a piece of The Goal Post. He was a deputy sheriff who worked as a bouncer for weddings and other special events.

After retirement he found his happy place up north in Crivitz, WI, were he and Maxine have lived for 28 years where he would spend his time feeding the birds, taking care of the flowers and plants, mowing the lawn and pulling weeds. He took pride in keeping a well kept yard.

He was an avid Packers fan, enjoyed watching Nascar and attending the Daytona 500 with to cheer on Jeff Gordon and visit Maxine's brother Jim. In his earlier years he loved to go deer hunting with his sons and brother. Richard and Maxine enjoyed going to see Daniel O'Donell in concert. Most importantly was the time he spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing cards, shaking dice, putting puzzles together or sitting around the camp fire just talking. He has built many memories along the way.

Richard was a devote Catholic who found peace while reading his prayers and praying the rosary daily. He was a member of St. Joseph Parish where he was a member of the holy name society and enjoyed working the church picnics. He was later a member of St. Mary's in Crivitz.

He is survived by his wife Maxine; his 6 children and spouses, Kim, Renee, Ray (Joy), Randy (Jennifer), Lynn (Keith), Kathy Jo (Craig); 9 grandchildren, Rick (Andrea), Ryan (Penny), Riley (Emily), Mitchell, Rebecca (Robb), Brandon (Bailey), Maggie (Mike), Ireland, Oliver; 5 great-grandchildren, Eva, Ben, James, Jack, Ethan; sisters-in-law, Jan Brusky, Kathy Westein; and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Helen (Robbins) Westein; in-laws Harry and Adele Brusky; brother, Robert Westein; sister, Maryann Lee; brother- and sister-in-law Ray and Virginia Brusky; brothers-in-law Vernon and James Brusky; sister-in-law Marlis Westein, and niece Debbie Berg.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Tammy Durant and all of his medical teams, the amazing Unity Hospice caretakers especially Michelle and Tyler, to Woodside Oaks, and Charlotte and the staff from Blaney Funeral Home who helped us through this difficult time.
