Richard G. "Dick" Delmont, 85, Hobart, WI, passed away unexpectedly early Saturday morning September 27, 2025. He was born to George and Geraldine Delmont of Green Bay on September 11, 1940.
Dick attended Green Bay East High School until age 17 at which time he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. He served for 4 years with the Marines starting in Camp Pendleton California. His time with the Marines included a tour in Cambodia and time in Hawaii at the Kaneohe Bay Marine Corp Base. On his release from service with the Marines he returned to Green Bay where he married his lifelong love, Margaret Horn. They were married for 63 years and had two sons, Quinn and Wade.
Dick with his wife, Marge enjoyed an active life. Over their many years of marriage Dick and Marge traveled to Alaska, Hawaii, and many locations across the U.S. Dick was an avid trap shooter, and his other activities included boating, hunting, and ice fishing. Together he and his wife spent many years motorcycle riding all over the United States. Both were very active members of Doc's Harley Davidson Wolf River Hog Chapter. With this group they organized and contributed to a wide variety of charity rides supporting many great causes. They also maintained and enjoyed a family cabin in Mountain, WI where they hosted family gatherings including the family's annual deer hunting group.
Dick was very proud of his work with the Wisconsin DNR Hunter Safety program where he volunteered for over 15 years to introduce young people to safe hunting practices. He loved sharing his many years of experience and stories with new hunters.
Throughout his life he was referred to as "Tricky Dick" by family and friends. This was due to the pride and joy he took in playing practical jokes on people. He was also well known for disappearing from family gatherings with his famous "Hu Dicky" move where he would just disappear.
Despite his sometimes gruff exterior he had a love of life, was a loving husband and father, and was a tremendous influence on many young people he encountered throughout his life. He was a strong supporter of US Military personnel with a special respect for young U.S. Marines. He will be missed by all. Semper Fi!
Dick is survived by his wife, Margaret; son and daughter-in-law, Wade Delmont and Colleen of St Cloud, Florida; brothers, Gary (Carol) Delmont, Jimmy (Pam) Delmont, both of Green Bay. He is also survived by siblings-in-law, Linda Brice, Lynn Horn, Sue (Dan) Burich, Frederick W Horn, Mike (Kelly) Horn, Ann (Brian) Boerst, Dave (Jana) Horn; special friends, Joe and Elaine Martinsen; many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his son, Quinn Delmont; parents, George and Geraldine Delmont; in-laws, Frederick and Helen Horn; brothers in-law, Chuck (Lynn) Horn and Dan Brice.
