Richard "Rick" Baranczyk, 63, Green Bay, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2024. He was born June 1, 1961, in Green Bay to Roman and Gertie (Wesolowski) Baranczyk.
Rick graduated from Green Bay West High School, Class of '79. Following high school, Rick enlisted in the US Coast Guard. He was stationed in South Carolina, where his duties included boarding vessels and searching for illegal activity. He would later transfer to Duluth, MN where he assisted those in distress on the Great Lakes, helped as a buoy tender and served on an ice cutter on the USCGC Mesquite, on Lake Superior. He would return to Green Bay following his honorable discharge in 1983. Shortly after coming home, he would meet the love of his life, Barbara Ewing. The two would be married at Annunciation Catholic Church on March 19, 1988. Rick had an incredible work ethic and was extremely proud of his degree in Civil Engineering that he obtained from NWTC. One of his biggest accomplishments professionally was overseeing the inspections of the EPIC Systems Corporate headquarters in Verona, WI. In his free time Rick enjoyed hunting and fishing. More than anything else, he loved to spend time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Barb; mother, Gertie; siblings, Ray (Lori), Randy (Pat); siblings-in-law, Teri Ewing, Pam (Eric) Holverson, Michelle Smith; mother-in-law, Carol Ewing; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Rick was preceded in death by his father, Roman; father-in-law, Richard Ewing; aunts and uncles.
Friends and family will gather at St. Jude Parish, 1420 Division St., from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 17; Mass at 11:00 a.m. with military honors to follow. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.
