Raymond "Ray" Wallace Roney, Jr., 83, Pittsfield, passed away peacefully at home on Monday September 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 24, 1942, in Lake Forest, IL to Raymond Wallace Roney Sr. and Marion (Shields) Roney.

He met the love of his life, Lois Perryman, and was united in marriage on April 7, 1967. Ray was a member of St John the Baptist Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus 6279, where he was the recorder for 30 years. Ray owned a Mobile gas station and worked as an auto mechanic along with many other jobs. At the age of 34, he started an apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker, belonging to Sheet Metal Workers Local 18. He spent most of his career at Tweet Garot Mechanical until his retirement. Though he was a part of and led many projects, his favorite was being one of the superintendents of the Lambeau Field expansion.

Ray enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and was an avid reader. Ray loved trains and was a member of the National Railroad Museum. Ray and Lois went on many travel adventures together with J & J Travelers & NBS Travel Group (Krabbe's) and took several road trips and cruises. One of his most memorable trips was to the British Isles. He was a big sports fan, especially of the Packers, Brewers and NASCAR. Ray was known for his welcoming personality and sense of humor. Ray was a dedicated husband, father and a phenomenal grandpa, always supporting them through everything.

He is survived by his loving wife, Lois; daughters, Lynn Roney-Lee, Diane (Shawn) Wilker; grandchildren, Nathan Hutton, Breanna Hutton, Hayden Wilker, Brady Wilker; step-granddaughter, Rachel Lee; sister Patricia Rutherford; siblings-in-law, Nancy Risley, Harry Perryman, Audrey Tahtinen, William Perryman; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; brother Norman Roney; son-in-law Michael Lee; siblings-in-law Dorothy (Chuck) Knesley, Gordon Tahtinen, Lawrence (Sharon) Perryman, Jean Perryman, Kim Perryman, Kurt Risley, Ralph (Bud) Evans.

Friends and family will gather at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., (The entrance is directly across from BP gas station on Glendale Ave.) from 10am to 12pm on Friday, September 12; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 12pm (NOON).
