Raymond John King, 90, Green Bay, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2024. He was born August 8, 1933, in Arkansaw, WI to Arthur Leonard and Evelyn Marie (Nelson) King.
Raymond married Zeona "Zee" F. Lauer on November 10, 1958, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arkansaw, WI. She preceded him in death on July 4, 2015. Raymond enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1953 to 1956 and was stationed in German for 2 ½ years during the Korean War. He was able to visit Italy, England, and several Scandinavian countries. Raymond attended college to become a diesel engine tech. He worked for Waukesha motor company, a John Deere in Illinois, Norberg in Wisconsin. Raymond moved to Green Bay to work for NW Engineering as a test engineer and working in their service department. Raymond travelled extensively with his work. The last 25 years before his retirement was spent at FABCO. There Raymond worked in the warranty and related field, eventually moving into the truck engine division. He assisted FABCO in recovering money from Caterpillar for warranties and assisted with training. When he wasn't traveling for work and during his retirement he enjoyed fishing, reading, and gardening.
He is survived by his children, John (Marla) King, Bonnie Krueger, JoAnn (Dave) Nyhus, Robert (Cheri) King; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Zee; son-in-law, Jon Krueger.
Friends and family will gather at St. Joseph Parish, corner of Ninth St. and 12th Ave., from 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Friday, May 10; Mass of Resurrection to follow at 11 a.m. with full military honors to conclude.
