Ray E. Ross, 88, Green Bay, passed away Wednesday, October 16, 2024. He was born October 8, 1936, in Crystal Falls, MI to Edward and Helia (Korkiamaki) Ross.

Ray graduated from Forest Park High School, Class of 1955. He was always a hard worker, strong, and had fantastic work ethic. Starting at the age of 7 he peeled Poplar Trees with a butterknife, picked potatoes with his brother which progressed to a career of driving fully loaded logging trucks at the age of 13. For a brief period of time, he worked as a miner, a logger, drove a bulldozer, and helped carve out highways in Chicago. Ray found his niche at STS, Soil Testing Services where he worked for 39 years. He was smart, intuitive, and could fix almost anything. He met and married the love of his life Janet Olson, in 1959. Ray was a family man and always took care of everyone. He enjoyed fishing, and hunting deer. Ray did know how to have fun too. In both work and play he gave it the "Yakabuski" – meaning "to give it your best effort".

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Janet; children, Tina (Pat) Baye, Terry (Jeff) Matzke, Susan (Karl) Ackermann; grandchildren, Amber (Chris) Tczykowski, Carmen (Mike) Klasen, Katrina Vandehei, Sara Baye, Mariah (Charles Polter) Ackermann, Morgan (Giles Powell) Ackermann, Tess (Archie Dudley) Ackermann; great-grandchildren, Kaden, Nicholas, Amelia, Austin; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
