Ray Edward Harmala, 86, Duck Creek, passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on Saturday, June 14, 2025. He was born December 30, 1938, in Ishpeming, MI to Reino and Hazel (Roberts) Harmala.
Ray was enlisted in the MI Army National Guard. He set aside his career in service to return home and care for his mother. On December 30, 1960, he married the love of his life, Joyce Ann Kallio. Ray often shared stories from his time living in Michigan, speaking with pride about delivering fuel oil to residents homes and the meaningful relationships he built along the way. Together in 1969 they moved from Ishpeming, MI to the Green Bay area before settling into their forever home of Duck Creek. He began at Fort Howard Paper Company, printing napkins and then went on to drive over the road trucking with the Fort Howard fleet until his retirement in 1997.
Together, Ray and Joyce really enjoyed spending time up North, in Pembine, WI. Ray loved hunting and fishing, mainly in his younger years. As time went on, he cherished the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Mike (Terri) Harmala, Lori (Kevin) Kingsfield; grandchildren, Christina Kingsfield, Kelly (Josh) Nickolai, Andrea (Jake) Ludlow; great-grandchildren, Lexi (Alex) McDonald, Carson, Grayson, Maddix, Mayson, Emmi; other relatives and friends.
Ray was preceded in death by wife, Joyce; parents, Reino and Hazel; brother, Donald Harmala.
