Patrick "Pat" John Hickey, 74, Green Bay, passed away peacefully on September 20th, 2024.

Born October 4th, 1949 to John and Nora (Geohegan) Hickey, Pat spent most of his childhood and adolescence in Denmark, WI.  Here he excelled in academics, as well as extracurriculars like AV Club and football. After graduating from Denmark High School, he attended St. Norbert College and the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay, ultimately earning a BS in Chemistry.  Pat was a proud military veteran, having served in the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps.   He later became a member of the American Legion.  Following his service, he entered into the private sector, combining his chemistry knowledge, natural charisma, and gift of gab as a salesman of commercial chemicals.  During this time he married and became the proud father to three sons and two daughters.

Pat is survived by his children, Ryan (Anne) Hickey, John (Sarah) Hickey, Tomm (Stephanie) Hickey, Katie (Mike) Wangerin, and Laura (Ben Barlow) Hickey; 11 grandchildren; brothers, Mike Hickey and Joe (Eric Courtney) Hickey; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nora; brother, Tim; infant sister, Patricia; cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Pat was a member of the Green Bay area community for most of his life.  In his younger days, he bartended at the Union Hotel in De Pere for a number of years.  He was a faithful Catholic, regularly attending mass at St. Jude Church.  And every Thursday he could be found at the Bay Family Restaurant enjoying brunch with friends. He never missed an election.

An avid reader, Pat possessed a lifelong intellectual curiosity. He was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, golf, and warm weather.

Those who knew Pat will recall his trademark dimple and how his eyes sparkled when he told a story or a joke, of which he had many.  A natural host with a hearty laugh, he frequently entertained friends and neighbors on his porch in De Pere when the weather was nice.  His 11 grandchildren were the lights of his life and a source of immense pride and joy.  He was also proud of his children's achievements, his military service, and his Irish heritage.  Pat had a kind and generous heart and could frequently be found with a family pet or three in his lap.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., on Tuesday, October 15 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 16 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St. from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. The Memorial Mass for Pat will be held at 11:00 a.m.  He will be interred with Military Honors at Fort Howard Cemetery in the Field of Honor.
