Patrick F. Gallagher, 88, Green Bay, passed away Monday, December 9, 2024. He was born May 12, 1936, in Illinois to Edmund and Marie (Korchak) Gallagher.

At a young age Patrick and his family moved to Green Bay following the death of his father. Patrick graduated from Central High School in 1953 and went on to attend St. Norbert College. He graduated from Michigan Tech with a degree in mechanical engineering. Patrick worked for many years in the private sector as a mechanical engineer. Eventually starting his own company while being employed at Fort Howard for the majority of his career. After his official retirement he still continued consulting in his field.

Patrick met the love of his life, Mary Stangel during high school and they were married on June 15, 1957, at National Shrine of St. Joseph in De Pere, and enjoyed 60 years of marriage. She preceded him in death on June 13, 2017. Together they spent time in Houghton, this concreted his love of the area and led to many trips with his family. Patrick enjoyed being a pilot, skiing, bowling, and enjoyed Gamblers games with his family. He had a thirst for knowledge and never stopped learning. Patrick taught several classes at NWTC. He was an avid reader of non-fiction, especially history. Patrick was a member of the Elks Club, Green Bay Yacht Club, Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Sea-Scouts. His biggest passion was sailing. He loved being on the water, boating, sailboat racing, and spending much of his time at the Yacht Club. Patrick was a loving and caring father who will be terribly missed.

He is survived by his children, Barb Gallagher, Debra (John) Lasee, John (Jean) Gallagher; son-in-law, Scott Savage; grandchildren, Jennifer (Robert) Deggendorf, Adam (Jamie) Lasee, Emily (Andrew) Schwark, Anthony (GiGi) Lasee, Leigha (Matt) Greve, John (Emily) Gallagher, Jr.; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Annie, Anderson, Ellis, Maren, Nolan, Easton, Jaxson, Anna, M.J., Kyla, Nikki; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Therese Trost, Bernadette Connelly-Hock; dear friend, Alice Fruit; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Patrick was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; daughter, Theresa Savage; granddaughter, Sarah Lasee; sister-in-law, Margie Goeben-Ostry; and brothers-in-law, Don Trost, Dan Hock, Joseph Stangel.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 15; Parish Wake to follow at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue at St. Joseph Parish, corner of Ninth St. and 12th Ave., from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, December 16; Mass of Resurrection to follow at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Allouez Chapel Mausoleum. Patrick's family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staffs of DeVita, Bellin, GranCare Rehab, and to neighbors, Chris and Paul Morgan for their years of care.

In lieu of flowers, any monetary donations in memory of Patrick will be used to purchase comfort items for the patients of the local DeVita Dialysis.
