Listen to Obituary

Patricia Lee (Marohl) Mayer, 89, Green Bay, went to join Jesus on Thursday, June 4, 2026 from Tender Hearts Assisted Living. She was born February 2, 1937 in Cecil, WI to the late Rudolph and Dorothy Marohl.

On June 26, 1955, she married the love of her life, Lloyd C. Mayer at Immanuel Lutheran Church in White Clay Lake, WI and together they built a home for over 55 years in the same house in Green Bay. After raising two children, working at Thompson Meats for over 25 years, she retired and traveled many years with Lloyd, both across the country and to their beloved trailer at White Potato Lake. Together they shared their love of God, family, fishing, campfires, wienie roasts and cocktail hours with everyone they met. After Lloyd preceded her to heaven in 2011, she continued to be a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (Oma) to a family that was blessed to have her for so many years. She was a faithful Christian and an active member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church for over 60 years (3rd pew on the left) and spent many years in bible study, LWML Missions, Altar Guild and volunteering to help anywhere she could. She also enjoyed baking, gardening, cross stitch, painting Lloyd's woodwork or sprucing up other art. Her most favorite activity was being a hostess at cocktail hour for family and friends - her lemon and caramel bars, gizzards, liver paste and bologna spread were legendary. Pat's greatest gift was making people feel welcomed and loved, and she did both enthusiastically. Her bars and breads will be missed at many events, but not nearly as much as her fun personality and steadfast love.

She was blessed to have most of her family close to her in Howard. Survivors include her children, Brett & Lori (Oberthaler) Mayer and Bridget & Michael Ruge; grandchildren, Lucas Mayer, Eric & Megan (McGuff) Mayer, Karlee Mayer & Bill Wittman, Rebecca (Ruge) & Sam Karpowicz (Chicago, IL), Jessica (Ruge) & Wes Hanson, Alycia Ruge & Trent LeBouef; great-grand children, Stephen, Gideon and Ezekiel Mayer, Noah and Ruby Hanson and Penelope Karpowicz; her brother, Tom Marohl; a nephew, Todd & Melanie Marohl; and a great-niece, Marisa Marohl. Her closest friend, Marcia Theis (AL). Her god-children, friends and loved ones too numerous to list.

Friends may call after 3:00 pm on Friday, June 12, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, 1731 St. Agnes Drive, where the funeral service will take place at 4:00 pm with the Rev. Scott Malme officiating. Entombment will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

The family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Tender Hearts Assisted Living and Unity Hospice for taking such good care of Pat over the last 27 months.
