Norman L. "Stormy" Thurber, 73, De Pere, died unexpectedly, Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at his home. He was born Nov. 8, 1937, in Laona, Wis., to Clarence and Ethel (Collins) Thurber. Norman served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. In 1956, Norman married Lucille McGregor in Green Bay. He was a simple man who enjoyed life.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Jerry and Diane Vincent, Green Bay; Dale Marie and Ray Vanden Huevel, Bellevue; Norm and Amy Thurber, Roger Thurber, Lisa and Larry Rabideau, Pamela Jensen, all of Green Bay; Sue Thurber, De Pere; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Mila Schuh, Appleton; Judith Lemke, Saukville; Joyce Thurber, Ladysmith; a sister-in-law, Shirley Thurber, Ohio; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Marvin and Jean McGregor, Lakewood; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; a stepson, Ronald; his parents; three brothers, Bob, Archie and Ken; a sister, Joanne Colburn; and an infant sister, Neldene.
