Norbert "Norb" "Nubs" "Nubby" Florian Graves, 97, Howard, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023. He was born August 25, 1925, in Green Bay to Florian and Anna (Paradise) Graves.
Norb attended West High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy serving in WWII in both the European Theater on a landing craft tank and Pacific Theater on the USS Bronx. Upon his return he began work at Superior Cheese and then Kraft Foods. It was there that he met the love of his life, Lorena Daun. They were united in marriage on July 8, 1950, she preceded him in death in 2016. Norb began work at WPS in 1957, retiring in 1990. He was an avid trap shooter, and a lifelong member of the Brown County Sportsmen's Club. Norb enjoyed camping with his family. He was proud of his volunteer work as a poll worker for 22 years and was a volunteer driver for many years with the American Red Cross after his retirement.
He is survived by his four children, Jim (Kathryn) Graves, Ken (Sharon) Graves, Shirley Graves, Paul Graves; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Norb was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Lorena; his parents, Florian and Anna; siblings, Emma Englebert, Joe Graves, Richard Graves; as well as his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Friends and family will gather at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2597 Glendale Ave., (The entrance is directly across from BP gas station on Glendale Ave.), from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 14; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. with Rev.
