Nicholas J. "Nick" Milakovich, 67, Green Bay, died peacefully, Thursday, Feb. 25, 2010, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was born March 22, 1942, in St. Paul, Minn. Following high school he served in the U.S. Army and fought in Vietnam. After the war he worked in Upper Michigan in the coal mines and worked construction for the Mennonites. Nick also taught golf and played in many tournaments. He was a manager of Super America gas station in Green Bay. Nick loved to hunt, fish, and being outdoors in the woods, always staying busy. He was a very handy man who loved to help others with projects. Nick was a jokester who loved to clown around with family and friends and have a good time.
Survivors include his wife, Linda; a son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Chloe Milakovich, De Pere; his daughters and sons-in-law, Linda Van Dyke, Green Bay; Angel and Victor Wozniak, Florida; Sheila and Ian Perks, England; Lisa McLaughlin, Milwaukee; a grandson, Jace Milakovich; his stepmother, Mary Helen Milakovich, Bessemer, Mich.; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Jeanie Milakovich, Michigan; a sister, Jeanie Blazak, Michigan; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Terry Milakovich.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Nick's name to benefit Unity Hospice.
