Nancy J. Schneider, 84, Lake Tomahawk, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, April 3, 2025. The daughter of the late Steve and Emily (Brovich) Sandor. Nancy was born on March 18, 1941.
Nancy grew up on a farm in Benoit with her seven siblings before moving to Milwaukee. She was united in marriage to Charles Schneider in 1968. They then moved to Gillett. Together they owned and operated the Carriage House Supper Club in Gillett, WI for over a decade. Nancy did everything there from waitressing to tending bar and she was known to make an incredible prime rib on Saturday nights. During all of this she was also employed at AON Risk Management in Green Bay. She was a woman of boundless energy and compassion that truly enjoyed being in service to others. Charles would precede her in death in 2005.
Nancy would later meet Bill Charles in 2007 and the two became inseparable, spending every day together for the next 18 years. They treasured time spent up at Lake Tomahawk and enjoyed walking through the woods with their dogs. Nancy also enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, fishing, and canning food. Her spirit of service to others never wavered, as Nancy selflessly volunteered at Howard Young Hospital and even served as Town Clerk for Lake Tomahawk.
She is survived by her stepson, Bob Schneider; significant other, Bill Charles; grandchildren, Brennan Schneider (Christine), Brady Schneider (Victoria); Deanne Schneider (mother to Brennan and Brady); sister, Pat (Alvin) Jirsa; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; her parents; her siblings, Eugene, Robert, Bonney, Katherine, James, Stephanie.
