Obituary

Listen to Obituary

Nancy L. Hayes, 76, Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 11, 2026, at home. She was born August 4, 1949, in Antigo to Eugene and Virginia "Ginny" (Koshick) Hayes.

Nancy moved with her family to Green Bay in 1963 and went on to graduate from Green Bay East High School in 1967. She began her retail career at Kmart and worked her way up to department manager until Kmart's closing. Nancy eventually retired from Walmart. During her time working in retail, she took full advantage of coupons, discounts, and especially the Blue Light Special. Her ability to find a deal only encouraged her to spoil her nieces and nephews even more. Each niece and nephew received a stack of presents every Christmas from everyone's favorite aunt, Nancy. She spoiled them endlessly and they filled her heart with love. Nancy had the biggest heart, and her world was full of selfless love. She unceremoniously became the caretaker for brother, Billy after her mother's death. Nancy simply stepped into the roll, no questions asked because it was the right thing to do. She loved spending time with her sisters and taking trips with them to Florida and visits up north. Nancy liked to garden and had an amazing green thumb. Nancy enjoyed going out to eat and attending live performances. She saw many productions put on by Let Me Be Frank and the Peninsula Players.

She is survived by her special friend, Bob Lord; siblings, Mike Hayes (special friend, Tanya Servais), Diane (Tim) Pagel, Jeff (Karen) Hayes, Peggy Hayes, and Billy Hayes; nieces and nephews, Spencer Hayes, Erik Pagel, Scot Pagel, Robbie (Lyndsay) Hayes, Nikki (Joe) Thomson; extended family and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ginny and Gene; aunts and uncles.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10:30am to 12pm (NOON) on Tuesday, July 21; Funeral Service to follow at Noon. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established in Nancy's name.
