Nancy L. Farr, 77, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, after a short battle with cancer, with her family by her side. The daughter of Orville and Dorothy (Buzzo) Jansen, Nancy was born on June 27, 1948, and was a longtime resident of the village of Howard.

Nancy was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, sister and friend whose greatest joy was her family. Her granddaughters were the light of her life, and she poured her heart (and opinion) into every moment she spent with them. She had a way of making everyone around her feel cared for, welcomed and loved.

A longtime member of St John the Baptist Parish, Nancy graduated from Preble High School in 1966. She began her career at Schreiber Foods as a Secretary. Until one day she walked into Farr's Grove with her parents and met the man who would become her husband, Ronald "Ron" Farr. They married in 1970 and built a life rooted in hard work, partnership, and community. Nancy worked in the kitchen and waitressed at Farr's Grove for many years. On New Years Eve 1978, she and Ron opened the Backgammon Pub and Restaurant, which they proudly owned and operated until selling it in 2001.

Nancy loved shopping and decorating, and her home was always dressed for the season - especially at Christmastime, her favorite. Nancy also loved going out to lunch with her sister, loved a good steak followed by a bowl of vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce and peanuts. She was known for her cooking, particularly her banana bread and meatloaf, recipes her family will forever treasure. More than anything, Nancy will be remembered for her kindness, her gentle spirit, and the love she gave so freely. Her presence made life brighter for everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her twin daughters, Heidi (Tony) Kordus and Heather (Scott) Beyer; granddaughters, Haley Kordus, Makenna (Mitchell) Reinke, Paige (Colin) Glowinski and Morgan Beyer; sister, Linda (James) Coshenet; her sister-in-law, Patricia Jansen, wife of her late brother Ronald Jansen; and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Farr; parents, Orville and Dorothy Jansen; in-laws, Chester and Theresa Farr; brothers in-law, Tom Farr and Gerald Farr; and nephew, Bret Farr.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 10am to 12pm (NOON) on Saturday, January 10; Service to follow at 12pm. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Unity Hospice, especially Tanisha, for her care and compassion.

Those who loved Nancy take comfort in knowing she is reunited with Ron and held in God's care. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her daughters and granddaughters, who will carry her love with them always.
