Myron Donald Bodart, fondly known as Mike, born August 23, 1933, in Kewaunee, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on September 11, 2024.
Myron attended Krok Elementary, Washington Jr. High and East High School before joining the U.S. Marine Corps in 1951, advancing to the rank of Sergeant in the 1st Marine Division. On April 27, 1957, Myron married the love of his life, Shirley Ann Bartels, at St. Mary's Church in Green Bay. They were blessed with six children: Bonita (Joe) Phillips of Green Bay, WI, Julie Van Oss of Austin, TX, Michael (Pamela) of Dunkirk, MD, Mitchell (Arlene Kasai), of Portland, OR, Cynthia, of Winston Salem, NC, and Colleen (Christian) Steier of De Pere, WI. Myron enjoyed backyard bonfires, bowling, cards, Sammy's pizza, making Tom Collins and watching the Packers. He also enjoyed camping at Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park with his children and carried on this tradition with his grandchildren for many years. He also demonstrated his carpentry skills by remodeling a modest home into a comfortable living space to accommodate his growing family. His professional life was marked by his employment with the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked until retirement. The epitome of a hard worker, Myron simultaneously ran his Ace Carpet Cleaning business during his early Postal career.
