Michael "Mike" James Vandersnick, age 51, born August 31, 1973 in Moline, IL, passed away unexpectedly on January 14, 2025 at Aurora Baycare Medical Center in Green Bay.

From the age of two, Mike was raised in Horicon where he attended grade school and high school. After high school, Mike attended the University of WI Platteville and obtained a bachelor's degree in communications. Upon graduation, Mike became an exceptional photojournalist, starting his career at WJFW TV12 in Rhinelander and then WSAW TV7 in Wausau, WI. His career path led to him WBAY2 and NBC26 in Green Bay and then as chief photographer at WFRV5. In addition to photographing footage for thousands of local news stories, he also covered many high profile court cases. After TV, Mike worked briefly for Spectrum and then landed a job in the Communications Department of the Green Bay Packers.

During his 10 years with the Packers, Mike worked from the sidelines during all home and away games and practices to video content for the team and Packers website. He traveled around the country with the team, including trips to two Super Bowls. He also shot and produced the Larry McCarren Show for the Packers. One highlight of his career was having the opportunity to interview Bart and Cherry Starr at their home and also to produce and shoot a Brett Favre special.

Michael was an award-winning journalist honored with countless awards including several Emmy Awards and an Edward R. Murrow Award. Most recently Mike was enjoying his new profession in marketing sales for a BVM Best Version Media.

While working for WSAW7 in Wausau, Mike met his future wife Michelle "Chelly" Boutott, and they married at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay on October 28, 2000. Mike and Chelly did not have any children but raised and adored four fur babies over the years: Angus, Bug, Blue, and Mo. Some of the things Mike enjoyed most in life was spending time with family and his many dear friends, traveling, fishing, and hunting. At age 30, Mike also ran his first full marathon.

Michael is survived by his wife of 24 years, Chelly Boutott Vandersnick; parents, Dennis and Claire Vandersnick; brother, Matthew Vandersnick; in-laws, James Boutott, Melissa Boutott (& Dawne Digmann), and Jessica Boutott.

Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eli "Butch" and Bernice Vandersnick, George Osterman and Lorraine Whittemore; and mother-in-law, Cheryl Boutott.
