Michael "Mike" John Crowley, longtime Green Bay resident, passed away Wednesday, September 13, 2023, with Kay by his side. He was born January 16, 1940, in Madison to Robert and Virginia A. (Anderson) Crowley.
Mike graduated from Madison East High School in 1958 and Madison Business College. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the Destroyer, USS Lowry, from 1958 to 1960. On October 13, 1962, this Irish city boy married a German farm girl, Catherine "Kay" Brunner from Pine Bluff – "that was the best thing that ever happened to me." They were blessed with four children and nine grandchildren. Mike served as Chairman of the Green Bay Housing Authority when Mason Manor was constructed. After retirement he volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Store, and worked at the Apple Store on W. Mason St. He and Kay enjoyed many cruises with friends and several family vacations to Disney World and of course, one of his favorites was a trip to Fort Lauderdale with his sons – "what happens at the Fort stays at the Fort." Mike had more favorite sayings such as "a day without a nap is like a day without sunshine" and "what am I, a leper?" when he wasn't included in social functions. "I like to watch TV" was his answer to being asked what his favorite pastime was and would always say "above all, enjoy your days with those you love." Mike was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and served as a communion distributor and Mass server. He was an Amateur Radio Operator with the call sign N9WCA. He also enjoyed a good cigar, trips to Door County, and activities with his grandchildren. After Mike became more non-ambulatory, one of his favorite things to do was go out to breakfast with friends. You know who you are. These were special times for him and Kay. Mike will be greatly missed. He had a great sense of humor, quick wit, and the ability to make us laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Kay; children, Beth (Joe) Emmerich, Robert (Maria) Crowley, Steven Crowley, Thomas Crowley; grandchildren, Andrea (Jake) Jacomet, Natalie (Albis) Rivera, Claire (Trevor) Palm, Kimberly (Jordan) Hoerning, Samantha (Alyssa) Crowley, Lydia Crowley, Seth Crowley, Audra Crowley, Kendra Crowley; great-grandchildren, Teo and Alaia Rivera; brother, Patrick (Corrine) Crowley; sister-in-law, Peggy Crowley, Bev Brunner; brother-in-law, Bob Brunner; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Terry Crowley; Kay's parents, Otto and Lydia Brunner; brothers-in-law, Jerry Brunner, James Brunner, Gordon Brunner; sister-in-law, Iris Brunner.
Friends and family will gather at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St., from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, September 22; The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 p.m. with Fr. Don Everts officiating. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you for the wonderful care given to Mike to Unity Hospice, the VA, Green Bay Health Services, St. Vincent Hospital, the Green Bay Metro Fire Department, Dr. Jason Hoppe of Prevea and to Linda for her morning visits and those much-appreciated back rubs.
