Michael "Mike" Bergman, 71, Green Bay, passed away at home on Saturday, June 22, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born May 1, 1953, in Green Bay to Norbert and Grace (Desotell) Bergman.

Mike graduated from West High School. While still in school, he started working part time at J&M Sales where he made many lifelong friends. From there, he went on to work at Fort Howard Paper Company for 30 years. After retiring, he attended Fox Valley Technical College to get his CDL.

On September 15, 1990 he married Linda Jolly. Together, they enjoyed traveling with their camping trailer and many camp outings with family and friends. Later, they had many fun times on their gambling trips to Las Vegas and Laughlin, NV. Mike enjoyed fishing on Shawano Lake. Eventually, he and Linda got a permanent campsite at Kellogg's Kampsites where they made many great friends.

Mike's special hobby was detailing John Deere lawn tractors. People knew the quality of his tractors, and many returned when a new one was needed. He always had an interest in fast cars, especially Corvettes, which he had many throughout the years. He enjoyed his toys that included ATV/UTV's which Mike and Linda took with them to Bullhead City, AZ where they wintered the past five years. Mike rarely missed watching a Packer game even while they were in Arizona.

After being diagnosed with ALS, Mike and Linda joined an organization, Healing ALS/Healing Advocates which focuses on educating and supporting holistic means to help improve quality of life while healing and finding solutions for ALS. This allowed Mike to be active and continue to live life the way he wanted for eight years beyond the timeframe he was given.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Linda; sister, Linda Lauren; mother-in-law, Ilamae Jolly; sisters-in-law, Brenda Sheleen, Sandy (Mark) Matthews; brother-in-law, Lary (Julie Draeger) Jolly; nieces and nephews.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Norbert and Grace; and his father-in-law, Clarence R. Jolly, of whom he had a special bond and relationship with.

Friends and family will gather at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, 2771 Oakwood Dr., from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 12; Mass to follow at 11:30 a.m. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com .

Linda expresses her gratitude to Unity Hospice and Felecia Ewald the caregiver in the evening. A special thanks to Chris, his caregiver from Unity Care Companions who provided such good care and formed a bond with him over the past five months. Sincere appreciation and thanks for all the support from Jim and Shirley Maenner, Dave and Mary Ahlswede, other neighbors and friends who helped out over the past months. A special thanks to Linda's mom, sister and brother-in-law for their support and help during Mike's final days.
