Melvin G. Collins, 74, Green Bay, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2026. He was born September 15, 1951, to the late Milton H. and Gloria M. (Molzahn) Collins. Melvin was a graduate of Preble High School, class of 1970. He worked for Brennan Buick (Cuene Buick) for over 34 years as a detailer. Melvin was an active member of Preble Park Presbyterians Church and had been a deacon. After the church disbanded, he became a member of First Presbyterian Church on S. Ashland.

Melvin was a kind and gentle man. He was "always there" to help his family and neighbors in their time of need, whether it's a drive to the store; "to cut grass"; or to snow blow the driveway. Melvin enjoyed listening to country music and watching the old T.V. series. He had such a knack for putting 1000-piece jigsaw puzzles together. Melvin especially enjoyed the holidays and picnics with his family.

He is survived by his sister Janice (Jeff) Bielinski; and 2 nephews, Shaun Bielinski and Aaron Bielinski.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Allen, aunts, and uncles.

Family and friends will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1571 Shawano Ave., from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Monday, February 2, with prayers to conclude.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staffs at St. Vincent Hospital 6th floor, ICU, and Prevea for their care and compassion shown towards Melvin.
