Maynard R. Charniak, 90, Green Bay, passed quietly away, Thursday, December 15, 2022 from heart failure. He was born February 27, 1932, in Laney, WI to Florence (Kuczer) and John Leo Charniak.

Maynard attended Annunciation Grade School, Central Catholic High School and graduated from St. Norbert College. He graduated from ROTC and was commissioned in the U.S. Army Signal Corps, and was stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ for two years. On June 13, 1959 he married Jeanette Illi in St. Paul, MN. Maynard deeply loved and appreciated his entire family and his Polish heritage. He was employed for 30 years with Montgomery Ward and enjoyed a long retirement.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; their amazing sons and daughters-in-law, Paul (Patty) Charniak, James (Cindy) Charniak, Don (Melissa Messenger) Charniak, Mark (Kim) Charniak; terrific grandchildren, Amanda (Nick Bopray) Charniak, Andrew, Rachel, Caroline, and Austin Charniak; sisters, Donna (Dave) Baratto, Delphine (Bob) Stein, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Maynard was preceded in death by his parents, Florence and John; and 12-year-old son, John Peter Charniak.

Friends and family will gather at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St.  from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 20; Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m.  Burial will be in Fort Howard Memorial Park. To send online condolences, please go to www.BlaneyFuneralHome.com .
